My Awarded Photos
Spring has sprung and my old cactus plant has decided to bloom. The flower opens at night, is only viable for a few days - but lovely in full blossom! :)
My Favourite Flowers
On the Grevillea tree in my front yard, a Wattle Bird makes sure its fledgling doesn't go hungry.
My Birds and Animals
Here, a gum tree, partly denuded, is putting up a struggle to stay alive.
Trees and Nature
Where I once lived, in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Australia, the region is prone to bush fires. Here, the Rural Fire Service is carrying out a controlled burn of the undergrowth in 2016. This whole area had been reduced to ash in a vast devastating fire in 2001. My heart goes out to those in California.
Places I've been, things I've seen
During the previous century, the Robey Steam Traction Engine was, at the time, the latest technology...
Presented in the photo technology style of the time.
Trains and Cars
On a 4WD trip to the Victorian Alps, in Australia, the scenery was superb! Years ago, this area was ravaged by massive bush fires, but is regenerating.
We stopped on top of the peak in the distance called "Blue Rag".
